The small town of Makthar, lost in the mountains of north-western Tunisia, is at the heart of a major transformation that will revolutionize the daily life of a school. One man, Lotfi Hamadi, and his association Wallah We Can, have taken the crazy gamble of making the boarding school self-sufficient in terms of energy and food, by involving families in the development of food crops. The objective is multiple: to develop a local and sustainable agriculture by providing work to the parents of the students in order to supply the 600 daily meals of the boarding school free of charge and to sell the surplus; to ensure decent conditions for the students and to develop the educational activities; to propose an operating scheme applicable everywhere, based on common sense, involvement, respect for the environment and opening to the world. In the long run, the aim is to transform the school into a social enterprise, to become self-sufficient and generate income. An unprecedented project, a societal as well as an economic challenge: it is this human, multigenerational, and positive adventure that this film proposes to make you discover.
